Study earth formation with music

Geomorphology is taught in class 9 in some Waldorf schools in various countries and is based on the forces that shape the earth on land and sea. It deals with the topographical features from the internal and external factors influencing the formation of landforms, their classification, description, and origin. Topics such as weathering, erosion, glacial/volcanic activity across the ages, sedimentation, and crystallization of rocks, will be discussed. Certain elements of paleontology (fossils to determine the age of the rocks), might be touched upon in this lesson.

Landforms from the Precambrian, Cambrian, and Holocene to the present-day Quaternary periods will be studied.  To integrate classroom learning and fieldwork, treks to volcanic areas on the island, and snorkeling/scuba to a nearby sea will be part of the lessons.

Where words fail, music speaks. The students will also be immersed in musical experiences where they play the guitar, drums, ukelele, shakers, and much more. Overall, the camp aims to foster a deeper appreciation for music and the world of sounds.

They will also play local sports and games, ensuring a holistic experience involving their thinking (head), feeling (heart), and willing (hands) faculties, which underpins the learning process.

Our past camps and excursions have been hugely successful due to stellar participation from like-minded parents and caregivers.
