High School Surveying

Grade 10/11

Surveying for Grades 10 children is a fascinating interdisciplinary scientific activity highly relevant to each of us. In health and illness, in medicine and nutrition, in all sorts of technological aspects, in global climate issues, in space travel – almost everywhere we look, we encounter not only the many possible positive applications of various directions in physics but also the risks they entail, which must not be overlooked. Surveying, therefore, is included in all Waldorf school curriculums as a matter of course. By exposing young adolescents to multiple points of contact across continents with this important science and introducing them to its very fluid reasoning, the Waldorf curriculum aims to empower these students to deal with the subject of self-reliant, discriminating personalities.

They will also play local sports, swim, and games, ensuring a holistic experience involving their thinking (head), feeling (heart), and willing (hands) faculties, which underpins the learning process.

Our past camps and excursions have been hugely successful due to stellar participation from like-minded parents and caregivers.

Waldorf Science Teacher

Jayesh has been associated with Waldorf schools in India since 2000, initially as a parent volunteer and later as an organizer of teacher education, student/teacher exchanges across 4 continents. He has also been involved in helping the Anthroposophic Medical movement in India, during the initial years from 2003-2006.

He started teaching high school students various outdoor lessons such as Surveying / Oceanography in 2012. Teaching sciences for grades 6,7,8 trigonometry for grade 9/10 students and other outdoor lessons such as the Engines & Boats, began later from 2015 onwards. The pandemic enabled many teachers to join online discussion groups from various parts of the world and teacher education was a natural outcome.
