In this 15-day academic journey, we will delve into the exploration of the human body, journeying though:

1. The essentials of nutrition for life and optimal physical functioning,

2. The physiological wonders of the skin - appreciating the skin as more than just an outer layer,

3. The anatomy and physiology of the teeth and digestion - where organs turn food into blood, bones, muscles and the energy that sustains life itself, appreciating the collaborative efforts of each organ.

4. The miracle of the breath and the respiratory system - the essence of life, unraveling the profound impact of conscious breathing on overall well-being.

5. And, the mysteries of blood circulation, the heart, and the interconnected systems that sustain life - understanding the intricate pathways of arteries, veins, and capillaries, witnessing the miraculous exchange within these vessels that nourish every cell in the body, the vital connection between the lungs and the heart, unraveling how oxygenated blood travels through the body delivering life-sustaining oxygen and nutrients derived from our daily meals, and eventually exploring the impact of emotions on blood circulation through the subtle dialogue between the heart and the entire body in every heartbeat.

This block is an endeavor into the exploration of the structural and functional dimensions of the human body, enriching our understanding of ourselves as we systematically unravel the complexities of human anatomy and physiology.

2. Sexuality and Reproduction

This block offers a holistic curriculum that seamlessly transitions from the wonders of the animal kingdom to the complexities of human sexuality. A transformative three-week journey for seventh-graders as they explore the intricacies of life, celebrate their coming of age, and gain profound insights into the male and female archetypes. This unique block encompasses captivating stories, insightful discussions, personal experiences, and a fascinating transition from the animal kingdom to human existence.

Kicking off with the mesmerizing facts of birthing in the animal world, students will immerse in the wonders of life across various species. These narratives set the stage for a gradual transition to human sexuality, providing a broader context for understanding the diversity of life on Earth.

Building upon the animal kingdom stories, the focus shifts to the human journey exploring physiological changes and lifestyle choices. Thought-provoking discussions on societal norms, love, marriages, same-sex couples, pregnancy and abortion, and societal choices are encouraged through the block and lay the foundation for a nuanced understanding of historical and contemporary perspectives.

The block further delves into understanding the physical changes in the human body from adolescence to adulthood and old age, in relation to the four seasons, enabling the students to gain a unique perspective on the cyclical nature of life. This analogy fosters a deeper connection to the natural rhythms governing human life.

The block will culminate in a celebratory event where parents celebrate their children's coming of age through heartfelt communication. This event encourages the beginning of a thoughtful and intimate relationship between the parent and the adolescent, emphasizing the beauty and reverence of human sexuality in a celebratory and inclusive manner.
