About the workshop

A Living Science Experience in the Andamans

Join us for an immersive, place‑based science journey where Grade 9 learners explore geomorphology and Grade 11 learners dive into oceanography, all through the lens of Waldorf education: phenomenological observation, hands‑on fieldwork, and deep connection with the natural world.

Over 10–12 days in the Andamans (plus travel), students will:

  • Walk the Earth’s Story (G9 Geomorphology)Investigate limestone caves, mud volcanoes, and coastal landforms; observe how tectonics, erosion, and deposition shape the islands; and record their findings through sketches, notes, and simple models.

  • Meet the Ocean (G11 Oceanography)Study waves, tides, currents, and coral reef systems; explore mangrove ecosystems and intertidal zones; and consider human impacts on marine environments through observation and discussion.

  • Optional Scuba ExperienceFor interested students, a certified scuba diving add‑on (Discover Scuba or Open Water) offers a unique chance to experience the underwater world firsthand, reinforcing oceanography concepts in a safe, guided setting.
