About the workshop
Our Grade 11 Biology curriculum guides students into the invisible world of Cell Biology and advanced Botany, challenging them to perceive the universe reflected in the microscopic. By studying the intricate intelligence of the cell, students develop the analytical insight needed to understand life’s complex, interconnected systems.
In Grade 11, the "Parzival" year, the students' thinking becomes more abstract and analytical. The curriculum mirrors this by moving from the visible macrocosm (whole organisms studied in earlier grades) to the invisible microcosm (the cell). The goal is to prevent a purely mechanistic view of life by showing that even at the cellular level, life is a dynamic, interconnected process, not just a series of chemical switches.
Along with learning Biology as their main lesson, the students will also be engaged in skill development that works in conjunction with this block.
